Should challenges be worth 10 reputation?
The fourth highest voted CGCC Meta question asks that SE increases reputation for questions. This is now status completed across the entirety of the Stack Exchange network. However, I notice that it isn't active here. According to Monica Cellio, it's completely doable to change the reputation levels, and this change would be retroactive
Code Golf, both on Stack Exchange and now here on Codidact, is not a good fit for the Q&A format. We should be prioritising quality challenges over answers, unlike the typical Q&A system which aims for high quality answers over questions. Changing the reputation system to appropriately reward high quality challenges seems like a good way to optimise for pearls, not sand.
Additionally, by doing this now, as early as possible, the overall reputation change wouldn't be extreme. By my brief guesstimates, no user would have an increase of more than 150 rep.

Challenges are what we need to survive
Some of our users answer almost every new challenge, but that's not enough to keep codidact alive if there are no new challenges now and then.
Challenges should get some incentive
Personally I've posted questions on codegolf.stackexchange because that's where the action (and reputation) is. I will start posting more here, especially if I understand that my contributions are valid
Challenges are a greater attraction to codidact (than answers)
If we want to get more users, they will be more engaged if we link them to a challenge where they could compete than if they see code golf codidact is all about answers in golfing languages they don't understand (yet). So, we should encourage challenges as much if not more than we encourage answers.
Encouraging answers doesn't fit with the theme of code golf
While on sites like Stack Overflow, many poor questions are written with the hope of getting unpaid help, we don't have any of that problem in code golf codidact.

I've just converted posts in the Challenges category over to a new Challenge post type that awards more reputation per upvote, starting now. Retroactive reputation changes are being handled as I type this; you should see updated rep counts shortly.

Update: Since making this change, we've added the option to vary the reputation granted for a given post type by category. Previously the setting was global for a community, which was why we had to create the Challenge post type. Now that we can set questions to grant 10 rep in the Challenges category but the default rep elsewhere, we've changed the post types back to Question and removed the Challenge type. The only difference you should have noticed is how posts were labeled in user profiles and search results.
(This means if you want questions or answers on meta to give non-default rep, you can have that.)
