Do you want any special tag styling or requirements?
Codidact allows you to define three special types of tags:
-
topic tags: these are treated as ordinary tags in all respects except that they're styled differently so they stand out. You can see examples on Photography & Video with the "photography" and "video" tags.
-
required tags: a set of tags, at least one of which must be used. The "discussion" etc tags on meta are like this. They're styled differently and you must use one.
-
moderator-only tags: used on metas for the status tags; you probably won't need these elsewhere but I include them for completeness.
I see that all of the posts (so far) in Challenges and Sandbox are tagged "code-golf", and presumably other challenge types would be tagged by their types (bowling, KOTH, etc). Do you want those to be special? If so, which type of special -- topic or required?
If you want any of this, we can make the change at any time -- no rush. If you choose to use required tags, the requirement will be checked for new questions or when questions are edited, but old questions that don't have them won't generate errors.

For reference, this is the list of tags we have from SE which is 9 pages long, so I'll take the liberty of listing out which ones are "required" tags, as they are used to signify a scoring criterion:
- code-golf
- code-challenge
- popularity-contest
- tips
- fastest-code
- cops-and-robbers
- showcase
- optimization
- code-generation
- atomic-code-golf
- fastest-algorithm
- metagolf
- restricted-source
- answer-chaining
- restricted-complexity
- restricted-time
- code-bowling
- rosetta-stone
- word-puzzle
- optimized-output
- fewest-operations
- halting-problem
- reverse-engineering
- king-of-the-hill
some of these can be merged, and most questions will fall into 6 of these types.
Do tell me if I missed anything.
