"integers" - should this work for negative integers? At least one answer I checked (but I suspect several) fail on -1, -4 because they test using x*x=4 (more) |

Why go all the way to 29 decimal places? A 64-bit floating point is on the order of 16 decimal places, and that's way more than the required 6 digits. I actually don't see any point in showing the test cases with more than 7 digits - i.e., just go one beyond the requirement. (more) |

*almost any BASIC interpreter* Well, any "modern" BASIC interpreter. I don't remember **?** being a thing in Applesoft and similar BASICs from 40 years ago. (Yes, I'm old.) (more) |

Including the link improves this a lot. The only remaining issue is that the linked samples have, as expected, white space around them. The challenge should either include the white space or explicitly exclude it. (more) |

Sorry for all the confusion, but that link doesn't work. Figure out a link that works, test it after putting in a comment (sometimes Markdown is a little quirky) and we'll go from there.

There are many logos. You mention "apple-touch-icons" - since I am not an Apple programmer (I don't even own any Apple devices), that is meaningless. When I go to the linked web site, I see a similar logo - slightly different sizes and colors. **Link to a specific source icon/image.** (more) |

When I go to Server Fault, I see a different logo - consistent line heights, slightly different colors, etc. Can you link to the source of the **actual image**, not just the main Server Fault page? (more) |

I have suggested the "move post between categories" idea a number of times myself (long before Code Golf started on Codidact). However, I think there is educational benefit (especially for new people developing challenges) to seeing the comments associated with a Sandbox post. Those comments would be... (more) |

Tags for sandbox status. I suggest we have some status tags for Sandbox. In particular, one like "status-finalized" instead of manually (and therefore inconsistently and not searchable) changing the title to say "[FINALIZED]". (more) |

I think most (if not all, but not sure) other types of challenges - code bowling, koth, etc. - are generally answered by the same group of people. Some people may specialize in one or another, but the general audience is the same. That is different from "Q&A **about** golfing" which is for people who... (more) |

Wouldn't any language such as PHP (and there are many others) where until an "escape" or "command" mode is entered simply echos all input automatically win? A PHP program "a" would print "a" and score = 1^2/1 = 1, PHP "aba" prints "aba" and score = 3^2/3 = 3...PHP program 1,000,000 of the same charac... (more) |

That *may* make sense. But "close" always seems to be a bit of a problem... Tags have the advantage of allowing other statuses as well, plus searching. You might want to search for "xyz" in the Sandbox for any previous posts, whether they became Challenges or not. Or maybe only the ones that are stil... (more) |

The problem with using "close reasons" or something similar is that it means closing the Sandbox questions. I'm not sure if that would be good or not - need to see what the bigger users think. *Most* tags will be the same - challenge types (code-golf, code-bowling, koth, etc.), other specifics (e.g.,... Sandbox-specific Tags I think there should be a standard set of tabs to use in Sandbox to indicate that a post has been turned into a Challenge, and possibly for other Sandbox-specific status issues as well. (more) |

A: Should we import our old policy posts? I haven't been involved enough in SE Code Golf to really count for much. But I do think we need to have policies stated somewhere. One advantage we have here is that once policies get reasonably finalized in Meta, we have the opportunity to move a true FAQ section. That section is truly waiting for c... (more) |

I posted a PHP simplistic answer that was rejected based on a reference to SE rules. Can we get those rules (a) at a minimum linked inside this question (the only link is to a Wikipedia definition, which since Wikipedia can change beyond our control is not definitive) and (b) preferably spell out all...
