Comment Post #282630 @#53196 are you already tracking this? (Or maybe it's been fixed by now?) I'm going through meta creating/updating Github issues and wasn't sure what to do with this one.

Comment Post #282482 @#53503 should meta posts in general not cost rep for downvotes? Or just this new tag?

Comment Post #279408 It's something the community should discuss explicitly, of course -- just raising the possibility. Meta activity is often community-building and community-curating activity and some feel that's worth rewarding. Maybe meta rep values should be different (but non-zero). Maybe meta *upvotes* should s...

Comment Post #279408 A question came up in another comment thread: do y'all want posts on meta to grant rep at *all*? It came that way out of the box but you're not required to keep that. If you want meta posts to grant rep but not these specific ones we can do that, but I wanted to ask if there was a broader change th...

Comment Post #282482 @#8176 if the community wants to generalize this to "no rep on meta" we can do that. Some communities want to reward "community maintenance" meta activity with rep, so we didn't bake in a blanket "no rep" rule. But this is something we should bring up at the start of new communities so they can dec...

Comment Post #282482 Thanks. Public record is important so that was my guess, but just in case the answer was "eh, don't really care after we've assembled the help", I figured I should ask. I'll talk with the team and see what we can do. (The user card is customizable, by the way, so a brute-force approach is to not sh...

Comment Post #282482 A new meta tag for the "must use one of these" set is easy; let us know when you've decided on a name and it's a simple matter of configuration.

Comment Post #282482 You asked for new question and answer post types that don't give rep (doable), and also that don't affect the stats on the user card (posts/votes/etc). I don't know if we can currently decouple the latter; will ask. Possible alternative: once you've resolved the rules questions and compiled the resul...

Question Leaderboards are live
You might have noticed that challenges now show a leaderboard in addition to the table of contents. This is something this community has wanted for a while, and now, thanks to user contributions and a lot of chatting in Discord, it's live. See this blog post, which I meant to link here more promptl...

Comment Post #282244 Ah, ok -- I parsed the "in any order" as being for the elements within each list, so I was a little confused. Thanks for clarifying.

Comment Post #282244 In the text you say to output abundant, deficient, perfect, but your examples look like deficient and perfect are swapped. It doesn't seem to matter for length of code and I assume the examples are what matter?

Comment Post #279441 I'm thinking we should rethink linking -- allow it even without data import, as a way to connect people on different communities.

Comment Post #280785 I don't understand the first example, where B(y) is between A(z) and C(z). Shouldn't that one end A(y), B(y), C(y), A(z), C(z)? (Sorry, I don't know how to do proper Mathjax.)

Comment Post #280343 @Lundin "currently". This is on our radar, but it's complicated. In the meantime we can at least do this. If a community really wants a rep-less meta we can support that the same way. I suspect that attitudes toward that vary by community.

Answer A: Should sandbox posts give rep?
Update: we can do this more easily now. We can change the reputation grants per post type per category, both up and down, without creating a new post type. Sandbox posts would continue to use the Article post type, but would now grant whatever numbers y'all tell us to plug in. Reputation from ex...

Answer A: Who should the temporary moderators be?
Please welcome your new moderators: Quintec, Chris Jester-Young, and Jo King. All three have community support and I said "at least two", so we're happy to appoint all three as temporary moderators. They've been pointed in the direction of the Secret Mod Tools (heh), which I promise to not include ...

Comment Post #279463 I just edited the category description to: "Questions about coding challenges -- techniques, patterns, etc -- that are not actual challenges." That feels kind of weak, but we can easily replace it with a better proposal if someone has one.

Comment Post #279141 @celtschk‭ it needs a separate git update, which is staged, but we wanted to get real logos in there. Let me check with our logo-maker to see how soon that'll be.

Comment Post #279258 In case it affects answers: soon (we hope), rep will not govern what abilities you have, like whether you can edit or vote to close. Rep will be just information, not gatekeeping. Longer-term rep might change further or even be able to be disabled in favor of other stats; we'll see.

Comment Post #279219 @manassehkatz‭ I was assuming that once a challenge is posted its sandbox manifestation is no longer active -- we don't want to delete them, but we want to mark them as resolved. They're articles so can't be answered anyway, so using a close notice is mainly a "clever" or "hacky" way (your choice :-...

Answer A: Sandbox-specific Tags
Another approach, suggested by ArtOfCode in chat, is to create a close reason for "graduated" sandbox posts. When defining a close reason you can require a URL (this is what's used for duplicates), so the close notice on the sandbox post would include a link to the actual challenge and people wouldn...

Question Do you want any special tag styling or requirements?
Codidact allows you to define three special types of tags: - topic tags: these are treated as ordinary tags in all respects except that they're styled differently so they stand out. You can see examples on Photography & Video with the "photography" and "video" tags. - required tags: a set of t...

Question Who should the temporary moderators be?
As we have set up communities here on the Codidact network we've been appointing temporary moderators. Ultimately, of course, we want each community to choose its own moderators; we've been doing this as a stopgap, while communities are forming, so Codidact staff don't have to handle all the flags (...

Answer A: Should we import our old policy posts?
For a small number of posts, it will be easier to create them here than to import them. Your moderators (yes we need to get some) can create new help topics, which you can link to from question posting guidance, close reasons, or anywhere else you like. By making them help topics you can organize t...

Welcome to the Codidact site for Code Golf (and other coding challenges)! We're glad you're here and we're excited to see what you will build.
