Is `12 PM - 1 AM = (-1)` correct? From the spec, I expected `12 PM - 1 AM = (-11)` . (Or maybe you meant `11 AM` instead of `1 AM`?) (more) |

Looks like the edit added a tag that only moderators can add, and since you're not a mod the system wouldn't let you approve it. I've approved it, and I see you've raised this on [Meta](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/289786), where I've written a fuller answer. Sorry you tripped over a gap in our ... (more) |

I can't speak to timing, but in case this affects the discussion: [filters](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/285370) including tag-based filters are under [active development](https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/pull/890). This would be a sticky view (until you change it) for a category's post list.

Yeah, I don't think SE is a good path to the creator/maintainers. Email sounds like the best approach, unless somebody knows he welcomes PRs. (more) |

That sounds like a good idea! I've never created something on TIO so I didn't realize that was there. Is there someone we can ask? Would a PR from one of us be welcome? (more) |

@#53588 it is possible to not use reactions at all, yes -- mods can disable all of them. Currently the "react" control still shows up, but I've filed an issue to fix that. (more) |

Just so you know, we're a ways away from having that new design yet. We posted the prototype and received a lot of useful feedback, which the design team is still processing. I'd expect at least one more mockup and round of discussion before anything gets implemented. So yes, by all means, think a... (more) |

Yeah, a category has exactly one tag set, which can be its own or one shared with another category. But we can't do mix & match, which would raise issues with how to put *new* tags into their correct tag sets (most users won't be aware of things that deep) and is just generally complicated. Sorry! I pinged Quintec. The moderators are better able to evaluate the community's sentiment (what counts as "enough", etc) than I am. (more) |

We can change the rep values in the sandbox (no rep, tiny rep for up but not down, whatever y'all want) -- that GH issue I linked is now resolved. (more) |

@#53837 sandbox posts do give rep currently. We can turn that off entirely or lower the value or whatever the Code Golf community wants us to do. I'm hoping y'all will use this meta question to determine what that consensus is. When the community has decided, a mod can ping us and we'll make the c... (more) |

It's something the community should discuss explicitly, of course -- just raising the possibility. Meta activity is often community-building and community-curating activity and some feel that's worth rewarding. Maybe meta rep values should be different (but non-zero). Maybe meta *upvotes* should s... (more) |

A question came up in another comment thread: do y'all want posts on meta to grant rep at *all*? It came that way out of the box but you're not required to keep that. If you want meta posts to grant rep but not these specific ones we can do that, but I wanted to ask if there was a broader change th... (more) |

@#8176 if the community wants to generalize this to "no rep on meta" we can do that. Some communities want to reward "community maintenance" meta activity with rep, so we didn't bake in a blanket "no rep" rule. But this is something we should bring up at the start of new communities so they can dec... (more) |

Thanks. Public record is important so that was my guess, but just in case the answer was "eh, don't really care after we've assembled the help", I figured I should ask. I'll talk with the team and see what we can do. (The user card is customizable, by the way, so a brute-force approach is to not sh... (more) |

You asked for new question and answer post types that don't give rep (doable), and also that don't affect the stats on the user card (posts/votes/etc). I don't know if we can currently decouple the latter; will ask. Possible alternative: once you've resolved the rules questions and compiled the resul... (more) |

@Lundin "currently". This is on our radar, but it's complicated. In the meantime we can at least do this. If a community really wants a rep-less meta we can support that the same way. I suspect that attitudes toward that vary by community. (more) |

In case it affects answers: soon (we hope), rep will not govern what abilities you have, like whether you can edit or vote to close. Rep will be just information, not gatekeeping. Longer-term rep might change further or even be able to be disabled in favor of other stats; we'll see. (more) |

@manassehkatz I was assuming that once a challenge is posted its sandbox manifestation is no longer active -- we don't want to delete them, but we want to mark them as resolved. They're articles so can't be answered anyway, so using a close notice is mainly a "clever" or "hacky" way (your choice :-... (more) |
